Jimmy “Buddy” Ray Landreth

Jimmy “Buddy” Ray Landreth was born February 20, 1953 in Greenville, SC to Judy Brown and Jimmy Landreth. The family moved to Hawaiian Gardens, CA and received his education in Artesia High School.  Jimmy entered the United States Army on December 1, 1972.  He held the rank of a Chief Warrant Officer II and served as a Marine Engineer Officer.  Jimmy was honorably discharged on June 4, 1985.

Jimmy was united in marriage with Diane Appel in 1992 and reunited in marriage in 2015. He started his working career at Trail King as a Welder then Egger Steel and finished as a Machinist.

Jimmy enjoyed NASCAR (Huge Dale Earnhardt memorabilia collector), motorcycles, and car shows. He liked to go “Rummin”.  He would literally seek out rummage sales to attend. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Diane; son, Tyler (Shannon) Appel and their children, Shelby, Bentley, and Sephia; three sisters, Pat (Dale) Kurtenbach, Carol (Dennis) Puetz, Sylvia Landreth; brother, Phil (Robbin) Landreth; and his valued nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial visitation will be held 5:00-9:00 pm Tuesday March 27, 2018 at Anderson Jones Corcoran Harrisburg Funeral Chapel.

    Dear South Dakota Family,We are sorry for the loss of Buddy.Charlie was so fond of him as well as all his siblings.He will be missed by all.From all the spring and summer pics he really enjoyed time at the lake with all you guys,you have been blessed to have all the precious memories,much love to all of you,Brenda,Frank and Cindy.
